Asiyan Suleymanoglu specializes in dispute resolution and practices as a professional mediator, negotiator, trainer, and conflict management consultant. She is an internationally trained educator, and an independent adviser on mediation policy to international bodies (UNDP, UNWomen, USAID, FCO, OSCE, GIZ, Council of Europe), governments, civil society, and the public and private sector. national governments. She runs a busy national and cross-border mediation practice alongside teaching and trainings. She has over 15 years of fieldwork experience on multi-million-dollar international development projects, with a special focus on access to justice, gender mainstreaming and peacebuilding studies in Turkey, Pakistan, Syria, Iran, Russia, and Kyrgyzstan. Since 2009, she has successfully directed over 25 projects. Ms. Süleymanoğlu is the founder of Akina Consulting and one of Turkey’s first and leading mediators. As a mediator, she handles all employment law-related disputes and is a member of the Global Mediation Panel- the Office of the Ombudsman for United Nations Funds and Programmes (UNWomen, UNDP, UNICEF, and UNOPS) and the Mediterranean Women Mediators Network (MWMN) Antenna in Turkey. Since 2023, she works as conflict resolution and mediation expert in FAO. Asiyan Suleymanoglu also specialized in human rights mediation, which focuses on business human rights violations which encompass labour rights standards, discrimination, and freedom of association. She provides analysis, design, strategic direction, training, and technical assistance on rule-of-law, women’s rights, refugee law, alternative dispute resolution, conciliation, and mediation. She is fluent in Turkish and English.
