Federico Antich holds a law degree from the University of Florence and an LLM in US and Global Business Law from Suffolk University Law School in Boston, USA. A practicing attorney admitted before the highest juristictions in Italy with over 25 years of experience, he has successfully handled national and international contracts, civil and commercial litigation and has pioneered the practice of dispute mediation in Italy, having mediated over 5,000 proceedings since 1999. He is currently accredited as a mediator by several bodies, including internationally the CEDR in London, the ICMC-BRI in Beijing and the IMI in The Hague. He is registered in the List of Mediators established at the Ministry of Justice pursuant to Ministerial Decree 150/2023. He was the first Italian to be accepted as a Distinguished Fellow at the International Academy of Mediators and currently serves as President of the Italian Delegation of the Mediation Centre for Europe, the Mediterranean and the Middle East, as well as Member of the Advisory Board and Past Co-Chair of the IBA – Mediation Committee. In 2022, he was awarded Emeritus status at the World Mediation Organisation. In addition, he is an Affiliated Professional of the American Bar Association and a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. Since 2003, he has been teaching and training in the Theory and Practice of Non-Contentious Dispute Resolution, having obtained certification as a Trainer of Trainers in Mediation from CEDR, Mediation Works Inc. and as a Trainer in Higher Education from the Derek Bok Center for Teaching and Learning at Harvard University. He is enrolled in the List of Trainers established at the Ministry of Justice pursuant to DM 150/2023. He has lectured on mediation, conciliation and negotiation at the University of Florence, School of Law, School of Economics and Political Science and at the University of Siena-Scuola Superiore per le Professioni Legali. He is the author of several publications in the field of mediation, most recently: Professional Ethics in Online Mediation (with Zachary Calo) in BCDR International Arbitration Review (2021); Civil Mediation, Public Administration and Procurement: is the time ripe for a paradigm shift? (in Italian) in Riv. Trim. This latter is the first manual ever written in Italian on negotiation as a leadership tool for Military personnel.
