Gary Birnberg is an arbitrator and mediator specialized in complex commercial and cross-border cases. He is member of JAMS, and on the rosters of over twenty other institutions worldwide, including the Hague Court of Arbitration for Aviation, of which he was part of the founding team and is the Chair of its Advisory Board, the Court of Arbitration for Art (Netherlands) the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS-Lausanne), CAM-CCBC and CBMA (Brazil), and CMAP (France). He also works frequently on ICC and ICDR cases. He has completed some 1,000 mediation and arbitration cases, and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, a Distinguished Fellow of the International Academy of Mediators, a Fellow of the National Association of Distinguished Neutrals (USA), and a Certified IMI Mediator. He is a former Chair of the IBA Mediation Committee, the Florida Chapter of CIArb, the French-American Chamber of Commerce of Florida, and the Arbitration and Mediation Committee of the International Law Section of the Florida Bar. Also a trainer in both arbitration and mediation, he writes frequently on ADR topics and is Co-Editor and chapter author of the GAR Guide to Aviation and Aerospace Disputes, published in early 2024. He works in English, French, and Portuguese.
