John is a graduate of Northwestern University and The John Marshall Law School. He is an attorney, professor, arbitrator, mediator and author who has developed The Art of Purposeful Negotiation and The Art of Purposeful Mediation over a legal career spanning six decades, providing him with invaluable knowledge and experience in the field of dispute resolution. In addition to practicing law, with extensive trial experience, he is an Arbitrator for the Cook County, Illinois Courts and has been an Adjunct Professor of Law at the The John Marshall Law School where he designed and taught an L.L.M. course, Negotiation Theory and Practice. He teaches and lectures in Law Schools and Universities in the United States and internationally.
