Lisa Savitt

Lisa Savitt has practiced international litigation representing U.S. domestic and foreign clients and is a mediator and arbitrator. She brings a litigation background to her dispute resolution work, with an understanding of civil and common law jurisdictions. She has worked in prominent international law firms representing foreign clients in cross-border litigation, is a qualified mediator with Benchmark International ADR and is a panelist with the American Arbitration Association. Lisa is a former Chair of the American Bar Association International Law Section, serves on the Section’s Council and is a member of the Board of the ABA Center for Human Rights. Lisa is an International Vice-President of the Senate of the UIA. Lisa has written and spoken on topics including application of foreign treaties, understanding cross-cultural differences in litigation and mediation, jurisdictional issues and enforcement of judgments. She is a graduate of New York Law School and has a BA in East Asian Studies from the George Washington University Elliott School of International Relations. Lisa is licensed to practice law in New York, Pennsylvania and Washington D.C. and is a non-practicing qualified solicitor in England and Wales. Her work experience includes three years at a British law firm in London. Ms. Savitt’s work has included counseling clients and working with counsel globally on matters involving cross border litigation and application of law from both civil and common law jurisdictions.
